The “EatSafe:Evidence & Action Towards Safe, Nutritious Food in Nigeria” initiative was today launched. The programme which had in attendance the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Ehanire, was launched by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN).

Dr Ehanire commended the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), for their transformative work in ensuring that safe & nutritious foods are sold across the country.
The Honourable Minister stated that he is impressed at the project which is initiated to support the drive for safe & nutritious foods in the country. He as well thanked United States Agency International Development for funding the project.
Dr Ehanire noted that the Ministry of Health is currently running a nationwide assessment of Foodborne Illness Surveillance & Response System. This according to the Minister will enable the Ministry identify gaps & project sustainable ways that can improve the surveillance & response system in the country.
