After losing the governorship election petition tribunal (GEPT) in Lafia, the state capital, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has sued his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and INEC.
The governor is confused by the recent judgement by the tribunal, which removed him from office and declared David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the lawfully elected governor of the state. He has therefore requested an interpretation of the ruling from the Court of Appeal.
Sule has subsequently given his legal team instructions to file an appeal against the tribunal’s ruling.

It’s unclear what’s going on, but his legal team has started a new appeal against those who are thought to be the governor’s supporters.
A paper apparently filed by Sule against Ombugadu, the PDP, INEC, and his own party, the APC, was made public and submitted to the Makurdi Court of Appeal.
At the Court of Appeal in Markurdi, however, David Ombugadu and the PDP have lodged a cross-appeal in response to Sule’s appeal.
According to the file, INEC, Abdullahi Sule, and the APC are the first, second, and third respondents.
Remember that the majority of the panel sided with David Ombugadu of the PDP, removing Sule as governor of Nasarawa State.
A minority opinion, however, upheld Sule’s legitimacy as governor.
