President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday reassured the nation that the Boko Haram insurgency was just a temporary setback, promising that the country would triumph over the terrorists in the end.
President Jonathan, who visited the scene of the fatal blast in Nyanya, Abuja, where a bomb explosion killed at least 71 persons and left over 100 with various degree of injuries and currently receiving treatment in various hospitals in the FCT, stressed the need for citizens to be enlightened to be security conscious and report suspicious persons and objects around them to security agencies.
The president, who was accompanied to the site by the Senate President, David Mark, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, was received by the service chiefs led by Chief of Defense staff, Alex Badeh.
He was briefed by the CDS after he inspected the huge crater created by the blast before he spoke with reporters at the scene of the incidence.
