The Niger State Police Command has arrested six suspects for various crimes, including culpable homicide, kidnapping, burglary, and cattle rustling.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the arrests were made between February 6 and 17, 2025, across different parts of the state.
Among those apprehended is Ibrahim Umar, 33, of Maitumbi, who was arrested for allegedly breaking into a sports center in Minna and stealing items worth over ₦5 million.
Also in custody are Mohammed Sani Bauche, 24, and Abdulkareem Hassan, 24, both of Beji, who were arrested for cattle rustling and kidnapping.
They reportedly confessed to stealing a goat in Beji and selling it in Garatu.
Additionally, 18-year-old Hamuza Yusuf of Garatu was arrested in possession of suspected cannabis and other illicit drugs.
Another suspect, Abdulrazak Saidu, 18, of Mararaba Kachia, Kaduna State, was arrested for allegedly participating in a kidnapping operation in Kachia.
Meanwhile, Abdullahi Sahabi, 24, of Kunu village, was arrested for culpable homicide. He confessed to stabbing a vigilante member to death seven years ago.
SP Abiodun disclosed that some stolen items had been recovered, and efforts were underway to apprehend other suspects still at large.
The police assured that all suspects would be charged in court upon the completion of investigations.
