The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Ubong Michael, popularly known as “Ubong Boy,” over alleged involvement in multiple kidnapping operations in the state.
The command also disclosed that disturbing human remains, including a skull and bones, were recovered during the arrest.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Uyo, the Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, said the suspect had long been on the command’s wanted list.

According to her, the suspect was apprehended following intelligence reports that he had returned to the community after previously going into hiding in Port Harcourt.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect is a key figure in multiple kidnapping operations, including the abduction of one Gabriel in 2023 and one John in 2025,” she said.
She added that a search conducted after his arrest led to the recovery of a human skull believed to belong to a victim, a human bone, two live cartridges, and a dagger.
John further disclosed that the suspect confessed to his involvement during interrogation and is currently assisting the police with useful information to recover additional weapons and arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, reiterated the command’s commitment to tackling crime and warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities or face the full weight of the law.
