The Governor of Rivers State Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has said that the State Government spent the sum of over N1billion to tackle the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the State.
Governor Amaechi disclosed this at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta-Ali at the Greater Port Harcourt City during the All Progressive Congress (APC) mega rally.
Rt. Hon. Amaechi said he decided to use the programme to test his popularity and noted that the stadium was filled to capacity with 40,000 people seated in the stadium, 19, 000 standing and 36, 000 people outside the auditorium.

In his speech, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State Engr. Tele Ikuru stated ‘‘Today, those who are for us are more than those who are against us’’, we shall sweep away the detractors, opposition and traducers into political oblivion with the broom.
In the same vein, the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said, he has been associating with Rivers State since 1975 and had not seen the kind of progress he has seen in the last seven years.
Alhaji Abubakar urged Rivers people to vote for APC if they want more changes, progress, good roads, health centres and good schools in Rivers State.
The former Vice President assured that the All Progressive Congress will provide security and development in Nigeria from next year.
