Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has begun providing citizens with temporary relief from the effects of the recent elimination of gasoline subsidies.
According to Infostride News, the Ogun State Government has stated that it has received 30,000 bags of rice from the Federal Government in an effort to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian people.
While beginning distribution in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun announced that the 50-kg bags of rice will be re-bagged into 10-kg bags.

According to Abiodun, this will enable the administration to communicate with 300,000 households in 5,400 voting locations across the state.
According to him, his deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele will be using polling units rather than wards to ensure fair allocation on the distribution committee.
He said President Bola Tinubu’s initiative to reduce hunger in Nigeria was commendable.
Abiodun told the people of Ogun that the relief supplies would be delivered to those who needed them, regardless of their affiliation with a political party.
