MUNICH, Germany, January 21, 2014 – TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC), has selected Coriant, the global supplier of industry-leading optical transport solutions, to provide its DCM-free hiT 7300 DWDM platform to enable 100G connectivity across its new Warsaw-Brno-Frankfurt route.
The new route connects to TSIC’s existing Pan-European, pan-North American and transatlantic DWDM network which was 100G-enabled with Coriant’s DCM-free hiT 7300 DWDM Europe-wide in March 2013. This new route enhances TSIC’s diversity of a key traffic corridor and enables higher performance for its services.
“The addition of this new fiber Warsaw-Brno-Frankfurt fiber delivers increased diversity and higher performance on a strategic route supporting not just our Polish and German customers but also for those in the Baltics, Eastern Europe and beyond,” says Brendan Ives, President of TeliaSonera International Carrier.
“We are pleased to strengthen our strategic partnership with TSIC and help it to expand the range of flexible, scalable and resilient service offerings for its customers,” says Herbert Merz, President and CEO of Coriant.
Part of the TeliaSonera Group, TSIC is recognized as the Best Global Optical service provider (DWM Awards 2012 and 2013) and it ranks as Europe’s largest IP transit carrier and the second largest global IP backbone. TSIC is a global fiber-based provider offering network outsource, capacity, Ethernet, Internet, international voice and IPX-based mobile data services with mainly content, academic and operator customers. Its growth has been with Coriant as its primary DWDM technology partner in Europe since 2005.
