Former United States President Donald Trump has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to immediately end the war in Ukraine, warning that failure to settle could lead to harsher consequences.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump urged Putin to “stop the ridiculous war,” emphasizing that it would be in Russia’s best interest to negotiate peace promptly.
“I’m not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people and have always had a very good relationship with President Putin – and this despite the Radical Left’s Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” Trump wrote.

He acknowledged Russia’s historical contribution during World War II, stating, “We must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War, losing almost 60,000,000 lives in the process.”
However, Trump cautioned that continued conflict would worsen Russia’s situation, citing its struggling economy.
“All of that being said, I’m going to do Russia, whose economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR. Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE,” he warned.
Trump further threatened economic repercussions if peace negotiations do not proceed.
“If we don’t make a ‘deal,’ and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States and various other participating countries,” he said.
He concluded by reiterating his belief that the war would not have occurred under his presidency, urging a swift resolution.
“Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better. It’s time to ‘MAKE A DEAL.’ NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!”
Trump’s comments come amid ongoing international efforts to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine as the war continues to take a devastating toll.
