The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has postponed its governorship primaries to August 31, 2016. The primary elections were initially scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 27. The Ondo APC is said to have moved the polls in a bid to calm the rising tensions in the party. The postponement has reportedly been confirmed by the State Secretary of the party, Rotimi Rahman. The Lagos State Government on Sunday issued a 14-day ultimatum to owners of illegal structures, shanties and street hawkers in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki areas. The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello, who gave the ultimatum in a statement ordered that they should remove them or face the law. It also ordered those who had converted walkways into commercial use in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and the Lagoon Front of Lekki area of the state to remove such them. Organisers of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), have released the list of nominees for the 2016 edition, with Nigeria leading the nominations with 10 names.
