The United Nations (UN) has launched a fact finding mission into new allegations that its peacekeepers sexually abused four underage girls in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic (CAR). The UN mission in CAR, known as MINUSCA, said in a statement on Tuesday that it was “investigating fresh allegations concerning both sexual exploitation and abuse and other misconduct by UN Peacekeepers and international forces in Bangui”. Officers of the Nigeria Police on Monday nabbed a suspected pipeline vandal and seized a petrol tanker conveying 13,800 litres of diesel in Aninri local government area of Enugu State. Mr Ebere Amaraizu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), told newsmen in Enugu that the suspect was arrested after a tip-off. Zambia will hold presidential and parliamentary elections on August 11 under a new constitution, a government spokesman has said.
