During a shootout with agents of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, a suspected kidnapper was slain by a member of his gang. According to reports, the deceased, named as Funmi Adenuoye, was accidentally shot dead by his colleague, Kunle, while attempting to flee from Amotekun Corps troops pursuing them during a kidnapping operation. The deceased and two of his gang members, Kunle and Tayo Ibrahim, were also said to have abducted a 58-year-old cement merchant, Alhaji Shakirudeen, in Ogun State on Wednesday. According to a source, the three kidnappers drove their victim to Okitipupa, Ondo State, with the purpose of negotiating a ransom there. Sakina Bello, a student from Kano, was taken on Tuesday in the Janbulo and Rijiyar Zaki parts of the city. Samuel Lucky Akpan, the suspect, is accused of kidnapping a four-year-old boy in Akure, the state capital. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) captured a fake soldier, Hayatu Galadima, and his collaborator, Hamisu Adamu, while transporting drugs, ammunition, and communication equipment to bandits in Kaduna State. The two were apprehended by a patrol team of NDLEA officials on the Gwagwalada Expressway in Abuja on Friday last week, the agency said in a statement on Sunday. They were found with 21 RLA 7.45mm ammo secreted in a water bottle, 16 packs of new two-way radio (walkie talkie), four army coloured head masks, and an army ID wallet. Three mobile phones, seven Nigerian Army pass letters, five handbags, and a sack containing personal goods were also found on the suspects.
