The Nigerian National petroleum Corporation has announced that it is prepared to support fleet owners to be well patronized and take part in the oil and gas maritime business in Nigeria. The Arik Air transport company has on Friday retrenched 300 of its employees, due to the economic effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on its operations. Following this new development, the association of Air Transport Employees has requested for negotiation with the management of Arik Air staff. The Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr Muhammad Nami, has announced that a sum of N4.178 trillion was generated in taxes from January 2020 to October. 2020. Following the completion of railway project, the Federal Government has announced the newly approval transport fares on the new Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line which slated to commence full commercial operations in January. The approved fees was disclosed by the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, during the inauguration of the governing council of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria in Abuja. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement ratification instrument has been presented before the African Union ahead of the operation of the agreement in 2021. The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman has spoken on the reduction of customs duty by the Nigerian government. Hadiza Bala Usman stated that the customs duty reduction constitute a part of the new Financial Bill presented by President Muhammadu Buhari before the National Assembly for consideration. The Managing Director, explained that the cargo is being examined manually because functional scanners are not available at the ports.
