The Nasarawa state government said it has successfully paid about N4.3 billion to local government workers as salaries out of the N8.9 billion bailout funds received from Federal Government contrary to statement made by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The Kwara Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it arrested 53 drug suspects in the state between January and March. Emmanuel Danladi, the State Deputy Commandant of NDLEA, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Monday. He said that the agency impounded 614.99 kilo grammes of hard drugs consisting cannabis, psychotropic drugs and Valium from the suspects. “About 300.9 kg of cannabis, psychotropic of 6.19kg and Valium of 307.9 kg were recovered from the suspects,” he said.
