Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has won the polling unit of a former governor of the state, Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja. Makinde, who is seeking a second term on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, scored 98 votes to defeat other candidates. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Teslim Folarin, scored 35 votes. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State won his polling unit with five votes ahead of his closest rival, Ladi Adebutu. Abiodun is seeking reelection under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Adebutu is of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). There is an obvious voter apathy in the ongoing Kogi House of Assembly election as most of the polling units visited by the media correspondent recorded low turnout of voters. The GRA Lokoja Club Unit 016, for example, had 750 registered voters but recorded only 80 cast votes at the time of filing this report. Similar situations played out in other polling units visited in Lokoja, the state capital and Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
