Gunmen attacked the Isu and Onicha-Igboeze communities in the Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Thursday, killing at least ten people, including two police officers. Two police officers are said to have been killed in Isu, while others were killed in Onicha Igboeze. During the incident, two lawyers were also alleged to have been killed by the shooters. The two lawyers were in a vehicle when they were approached by shooters in a Lexus SUV, according to reports. A 300-Level female student of Bayero University Kano has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected of being kidnappers. Sakina Bello, a student from Kano, was taken on Tuesday in the Janbulo and Rijiyar Zaki parts of the city. The kidnappers allegedly phoned her relatives on Wednesday morning and demanded a ransom of N100 million. DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the spokesman for the Kano State Police Command, verified the event when contacted. Two alleged kidnappers were apprehended by police in Ogun State while attempting to collect ransom. Muhammed Abubakar and Clinton Niche were named as suspects in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
