The Deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Cross River State, Jonah Ekpezu has said he expected the low turnout of voters following the controversy surrounding the outcome of the last presidential election which did not favour the party’s candidate, Peter Obi.
In an interview, Ekpezu said he was surprised that at his 34 Ambo polling unit, people came out to vote for his party in good numbers.
Ekpezu expressed optimism that his party will sweep the polls at the ongoing governorship election in the state.
He said the party will remain law abiding but may question the outcome of the election if they have credible reasons to do so when the results are eventually released.
