Mr. Issac Omodewu, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay party members in the state.
According to Omodewu’s remarks on Tuesday, the party members’ contributions to Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 elections make this a must.
While hosting APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje at the party’s state secretariat in Ibadan’s Oke-Ado neighborhood, the state APC chairman made the aforementioned proclamation.

In his speech, Omodewu said that the state’s APC members have not been paid for their efforts during the election.
He claimed that, despite difficulties, APC members had done their best to back every party candidate.
Omodewu said, “We worked for the party, we got three senate seats and nine House of Representatives seats. We’ve been waiting for payment since we helped out our dad. We’re making a formal request for damages at this time.
The majority of our membership voted in the primary. A previous Labour Party candidate for governor is among us now. Seyi Makinde has never been an employee of the APC. We have already held our primary election for local government, and everything seems to be in order. We promise you that Oyo State is solidly in the APC’s hands.
Meanwhile, with the events leading up to the previous general election still vivid in our minds, we feel compelled to share the news that Oyo APC is still an unheralded success story, having received scant support yet exceeding all expectations despite this.
Even though there was no incumbent governor in Oyo, the campaign was difficult because members of the opposition party were repeatedly attacked by PDP-sponsored thugs. The same PDP thugs attacked and destroyed indiscriminately any and all of our campaign infrastructure, including billboards, vehicles, and buildings.
To quote his direct address to Ganduje: “As it stands today, we are not getting fair treatment, but we remain hopeful that things will change for the better.”
In his speech, Ganduje stressed the importance of party unity in forming the next government in the state.
Thank you very much. We have some business to take care of while we’re in town. We had to stop by the state capital while in Ibadan. We appreciate your support of our presidential, senate, house, and assembly candidates. We need you to stick together, though, so that you can take control of Oyo State.
